Luke's Nursery Reveal

I finally got around to taking some pictures of the nursery today.  Since most of our family and friends in Houston won't get to see it in person (anyone wanting to drive 8 hours, we would love to see you :-) I thought this would be a good way to share!  Here's a view of the room as you enter the door.

I had so much fun planning and decorating his nursery!  After looking at many pictures and ideas on-line I finally decided to go with a vintage airplane theme.  I couldn't convince Kyle to paint the room again since he had just painted it in August.  So, I decided to use lots of color in the decorations and curtains.

My favorite item in the room are the curtains.  This was one of those projects where I had a vision of what I wanted but wasn't sure if it was going to work.  Thankfully, my mother-in-law came into town and helped!  The navy part of the curtains used to be in Lane's room.  We found a pre-made red curtain, cut it and sewed it to the bottom, cut the grommets off the top and used them as tie-backs!  I am so pleased with how they turned out.  Thank you Melinda for sewing these for me!

To the right of the window is his changing table.

We decided to get Lane new furniture and use his twin bed in the nursery.  It will come in handy when we transition Luke to sleep in his own room!  Several of our guests have already used it.  I plan on adding some pictures of Luke on this wall (when I get them developed) and some hanging bookshelves.  I think that as Luke grows, this room will still be perfect for him!  I hope he will like it as much as I do!
